Hospice Wits Soweto.

For Mandela Day 2013, Duck and Craig sought to make a difference at Hospice Wits, in Soweto – a centre for the care of terminally ill individuals.

Rather than provide food and supplies for only 67 minutes, once a year, that would inevitably run out, we wanted to give Hospice Wits a gift that was sustainable, something that left a legacy in line with the legacy left behind by Madiba himself.

We constructed a large vegetable garden capable not only of feeding the residents but also the surrounding community.

What started as 67 minutes of good for Nelson Mandela Day in 2013, ignited a passion for Nic and the Duck Squad’s large scale vegetable gardens that are active today.
